Connecting Your Property to Google Vacation Rentals

How to connect your Futurestay property to Google Vacation Rentals and how bookings work through GVR.

What Is Google Vacation Rentals

Google Vacation Rentals (GVR) is Google’s vacation rental search product. When someone searches for a rental in Google Search or Google Travel, GVR listings appear directly in the results with photos, pricing, and availability. Unlike Airbnb or VRBO, GVR doesn’t host the booking. Instead, it drives traffic to your Futurestay direct booking website, where guests complete the reservation. This means GVR bookings are direct bookings, with no OTA commission.

Futurestay is an official Google partner, which means your properties can appear in GVR search results through the Futurestay integration without needing to apply for a separate Google partnership.

How to Connect

GVR is connected at the property level. Go to Property > Integrations and find Google Vacation Rentals in the channel list. Enabling it submits your property to Google’s index. There is no OAuth flow or third-party authorization required. Futurestay handles the data feed to Google directly.

Once enabled, Google indexes your property. Indexing can take a few days to a few weeks depending on your property’s data quality and Google’s crawl schedule. You don’t need to take any action during this period. Make sure your property has complete photos, a full description, accurate address, and pricing set up before enabling GVR, since these factors affect how quickly and prominently you appear.

How GVR Bookings Work

When a guest finds your property on Google and clicks through, they land on your Futurestay direct booking website. They search dates, see your availability and pricing, and book through your site using your payment setup. Futurestay processes the payment via Stripe and the reservation appears in your Futurestay reservations list just like a direct booking.

Because guests book on your site, your Futurestay cancellation policy, house rules, and rental agreement apply. Make sure these are set up and match what you want guests to see before your property goes live in Google search.
