When You Need to Reconnect
Your Airbnb connection can become disconnected if you changed your Airbnb password, revoked Futurestay’s access in your Airbnb account settings, or if Airbnb’s authorization expired. When this happens, your calendar stops syncing and reservations from Airbnb won’t appear in Futurestay.
You’ll usually see a warning in the app letting you know the connection needs to be re-established.
How to Reconnect
- Go to Properties in the main navigation
- Click the Add Property dropdown in the top right
- Select Import from Airbnb
- You’ll be taken through the Airbnb authorization flow to reconnect your account
- Once authorized, you’ll see a list of your Airbnb listings
- Select the properties you want to relink
What Happens When You Relink
Futurestay matches properties by their Airbnb listing ID. If you select a property that already exists in your Futurestay account, it will not create a duplicate. Instead, it reimports the listing data from Airbnb into your existing Futurestay property.
This is important to understand: reimporting overwrites your Futurestay property data with whatever is currently on your Airbnb listing. If you made changes to your title, description, photos, amenities, or other settings inside Futurestay after the original import, those changes will be replaced by the Airbnb version.
This includes:
- Title and description
- Photos and photo order
- Amenities
- Property details (capacity, rooms, beds)
- Location information
Settings that are Futurestay-specific (like your direct booking website configuration, rental agreement terms, and Futurestay-only fees) are not affected by the reimport since those don’t exist on Airbnb.
Before You Reconnect
If you’ve made significant edits to your property in Futurestay that you don’t want overwritten, take note of what you changed before reconnecting. After the reimport, you can go back and re-apply any Futurestay-specific edits.
If your property settings in Futurestay and Airbnb are already in sync (which they should be if you were using Full Sync), the reimport won’t change anything meaningful since both sides already have the same data.
