Connecting Turno

How to connect Turno for automated cleaning coordination triggered by guest checkouts.

What Turno Does

Turno (formerly TurnoverBnB) is a cleaning management platform built for short-term rental operators. It connects hosts with a marketplace of STR-experienced cleaners, handles scheduling, and sends automatic notifications to cleaning teams when new bookings come in or guests check out.

The core value is automation: instead of texting your cleaner every time a guest checks out, Turno picks up the checkout event from Futurestay and schedules the clean automatically. Your cleaner gets notified, shows up, marks the job complete, and you get a notification when the property is guest-ready.

This integration requires the Amplify plan.

How to Connect

  1. Create an account at turno.com if you don’t already have one.
  2. In Futurestay, go to Integrations > Turno and click Connect.
  3. You’ll be redirected to Turno to authorize the connection. Turno will import your property list from Futurestay.
  4. In Turno, assign a cleaner (or post to the Turno marketplace) for each property. Set your preferred cleaning fee, buffer time, and any property-specific instructions.

Once the cleaner assignment is in place in Turno, the automation is live.

How Checkout Events Trigger Cleaning Jobs

Every time a reservation is created or modified in Futurestay, that information syncs to Turno. Turno uses the checkout date and time to automatically schedule a cleaning job for that day.

Specifically:

  • When a booking is confirmed in Futurestay, Turno creates a scheduled cleaning task for the checkout date.
  • When a booking is cancelled or the checkout date changes, Turno updates or removes the cleaning task accordingly.
  • When the cleaner completes the job, they mark it done in the Turno app. You receive a completion notification.

The cleaner never needs to be manually notified for each new booking. Turno handles that communication automatically.

Cleaner Marketplace vs. Your Own Team

Turno offers two ways to manage cleaners:

  • Your own cleaner. If you already have a cleaning person or team, invite them to Turno. They create a free account and receive job notifications through the app. They don’t need to be on the Turno marketplace.
  • Turno marketplace. If you need a cleaner, you can post your properties to Turno’s marketplace and receive bids from vetted local cleaners. Turno handles payments to marketplace cleaners directly.

Most established hosts use Turno with their existing cleaning team just for the scheduling automation. The marketplace is useful when you’re in a new market or your current cleaner isn’t available.

Buffer Time and Arrival Windows

In Turno, you can set how much time the cleaner has between checkout and the next check-in. If your checkout is at 11am and check-in is at 3pm, Turno schedules a 4-hour window. If the next check-in is same-day, make sure your Futurestay minimum turnaround settings match what your cleaner realistically needs. Tight turnaround times are one of the most common sources of cleaner stress and last-minute issues.
